For a long time, being highly sensitive woman didn’t feel like a gift, it felt overwhelming. The world, other people, even my own emotions… it was all too much to hold. My nervous system was constantly in survival and I didn’t feel safe in my own body.
As a child, I had intense eczema, constant reactions, a nervous system so activated I couldn't go outside. I lived in baths, on my bed, just trying to calm my body down. I was absorbing and holding everything with no way to release it. The imprint was simple: it isn't safe to receive. Anything could overwhelm me.
So I coped the only way I knew how, I disconnected, I made myself small. I stayed quiet, hidden and told myself that being endlessly open was what it meant to be a woman. But underneath that, I was exhausted… and honestly, I felt lost.
Then I hit a breaking point. I went inward, questioned every story I'd built around safety, started deeply nourishing myself and rewriting the story of me.
I leaned into Mother Earth as my most intimate relationship. Held in Nature I started to look closely at what was swirling inside, that was creating my reality. The more I listened to her, the more I remembered myself.
Her radiance, her sensuality, her softness, her eros. This is me too.
Coming home to your body isn't about never feeling fear. It's about trusting yourself enough to receive life, without abandoning yourself when it moves through you.
That's the root of Sovereign Woman - the same alchemy that turned a hypersensitive girl hiding from life into a woman who trusts her body enough to receive all of it.
